The “Lazy” part is that you use a box brownie mix. But everyone does that. If you use a good quality box mix like the one in the below recipe, no one will ever know. Especially if you lie to them. This is my explicit permission to lie to people about the origins of your brownies. All a boxed mix is are dry ingredients that you could have combined on your own if you had the time and energy.
These brownies are chewy and moist, with just a hint of heat – barely noticeable unless you are looking for it. But once you realize it’s there, you can't help but appreciate the amazing compliment it is to the chocolate, and you won't ever want just a regular ol' brownie again!
Ingredients
2 – Ghiradelli triple chocolate Brownie Mix (available in a 6 pack at Costco)
2 – Large eggs
1/2 Cup of Green Chili Jam
1/2 cup of water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
Directions
Mix the ingredients and follow the instructions on the box, bake in a 9 X 13 pan – with the caveat that your wet ingredients are never more than 1-1/3 cup – so adjust the amounts that are typically on the box accordingly (we've already done this for you above). By adding Green Chili Jam, you have to take other liquids out to make sure the consistency stays the same. My suggestion for your first go around is to follow the recipe provided above, then if you want more heat the next time you make it, add more Green Chili Jam, and remove some water. If you want them to be richer or more moist, add some oil and remove some water – etc.
